This short lived line-up featured Bruce Barlow, bass, Lance Dickerson, drums, both ex Commander Cody plus James Q Smith, guitar, ex John Mayall. After the touring party that was Bob Dylan s Rolling Thunder Revue, came to an end, McGuinn and new foil Mick Ronson entered the studio to record the tighter and rockier Cardiff Rose.
